אִיסְתְּוָורָא, אִיסְתְּוִירָא, אִיסְטְוָורָא, אִיסְתַּוְרָא m. (Ithpe. or Ispe. of סְוַר = שָׁוַר to leap, stride; b. h. אֲשׁוּר; cmp. אִסְפֶּירֶס) ankle, foot-step. Targ. Job XXIII, 11; a. e. Yeb. 103ᵃ; Arakh. 19ᵇ האי אי׳ עד ארעא נחית (Ar. אסתוו׳) what is called ist’vira (ankle, in an anatomical sense) goes down to the ground (the entire length of the foot from the ankle).
