Our Commitment
The Berean Institutes is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Measures to Support Accessibility
The Institute takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of this website: including accessibility as a requirement for all web content development, using semantic HTML elements to support screen readers and assistive technologies, providing descriptive alt text for all meaningful images, maintaining sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background elements, supporting keyboard navigation throughout the site, providing a skip-to-content link on every page, using ARIA attributes where appropriate to enhance assistive technology support, and designing responsive layouts that function across devices and screen sizes.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Known Limitations
While we work to ensure accessibility across the entire site, the following areas may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA: third-party websites and tools linked from the Resources section operate under their own accessibility standards and are outside our control; PDF documents available for download may not be fully screen-reader compatible; some interactive elements, including the mega navigation menu, may have limited keyboard support during this phase of development; and the Governance Transparency Dashboard contains data tables that may require additional accessibility optimization.
We are actively working to identify and resolve these limitations.
Technologies
Accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA, and Next.js. These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Compatible Environments
This website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies: screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver), screen magnification software, and speech recognition software. The website is designed to be compatible with the last two major versions of commonly used web browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know through the Contact page. When reporting an issue, please include a description of the accessibility problem, the page URL where you encountered it, the web browser and assistive technology you were using, and any other details that may help us identify and resolve the issue. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days.
Assessment Approach
The Institute assesses the accessibility of this website through self-evaluation, automated testing tools, and manual keyboard and screen-reader testing during development.
