Acceptable Use Policy
The rules for using Berean accounts, courses, the Library, the Public Forum, and every other Berean online service.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to everyone who uses Berean’s website and online services: visitors, applicants, students, Public Forum members, authors, donors, volunteers, and staff. It adds to the Terms of Use. Students must also follow Student Conduct and Academic Integrity.
2. Your account
- Use only your own account. Do not share your password or let anyone else sign in as you.
- Use two-step sign-in when Berean offers it for your account.
- Tell Berean right away if you think someone else used your account.
3. Respect other people
- Do not harass, threaten, or insult anyone.
- Do not post or share another person’s personal information without permission.
- Do not pretend to be another person or organization.
- Do not send spam, advertising, or chain messages.
4. Respect Berean’s systems
- Do not try to see, change, or delete information you are not allowed to access.
- Do not scan, probe, or test Berean’s systems for weaknesses unless Berean has asked you to in writing.
- Do not upload or send viruses or other harmful code.
- Do not use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to copy or download content in bulk without written permission.
- Do not try to get around limits, such as search limits or access rules.
5. Respect content and licenses
- Follow the license shown on each Library resource when you reuse it (Library Terms).
- Use course materials only for your own study.
- Upload or post only material you have the right to share. To report a copyright problem, see the Copyright & DMCA Process.
6. Uploads and forms
- Upload only the files a form asks for. Files may be checked for viruses.
- Do not put financial, medical, or other sensitive information in a form unless the form asks for it.
7. Reporting a security problem
If you find a security problem, email info@bereaninstitutes.org with what you found. Do not use it to see other people’s information, and do not share it publicly before Berean has fixed it.
Berean will not treat a good-faith report that follows these steps as a violation of this policy.
8. If this policy is broken
Berean may remove content, limit or pause access, or close an account. Berean may report illegal activity to the authorities.
Students are handled under Student Conduct, which includes the right to appeal. Anyone else may ask for a review by email to info@bereaninstitutes.org.
