אַלִּים, אַלְּמָא m. , אַלִּימָא f. (אלם) strong, influential; violent. Targ. Y. Gen. XXV, 23; a. e.—Git. 60ᵇ, a. fr. כל דא׳ גבר whoever is in power wins (right of possession in cases in which the judge is unable to decide). Ḥull. 39ᵇ איניש אלמא a powerful man (defying the law).—Keth. 14ᵃ א׳ ליה בריא to him the positive assertion is the stronger argument.—Pl. אַלִּימֵי Ḥull. 76ᵃ thick (sinews).
