בְּלַע, בְּלְעָא, בִּלְעָה ch. m. (cmp. בֶּלַע) the thing swallowed, choking fit. Y. Ab. Zar. II, 40ᵈ אהן בלעה שרי in a choking attack it is allowed (to apply remedies on the Sabbath) Ib. הוה ליה בלע had a choking fit; Koh. R. to X, 5 הוה ליה חד בלעא.
