בִּיל, בּוּל ch. (cmp. b. h. בָּלַל) to mix, knead; trnsf. (cmp. גרס, דרש) to study thoroughly. Men. 65ᵃ (play on בלשן, Neh. VII, 7; cmp. בלשׁ) הוה בָּיֵיל … ודריש he studied languages and explained them.
