גַּדְּפָן, גֹּודְפָן m. (גדף) blasphemer.—Pl. גַּדְּפָנִין, גֹּודְ׳. Y. M. Kat. III, 83ᵇ משרבו הגד׳ וכ׳ since the (gentile) blasphemers (of the Lord) became too numerous, they (the Israelites) ceased to rend their garments (on hearing blasphemy); Y. Snh. VII, 25ᵇ top הגי׳ (corr. acc.).—Y. Yoma VII, 44ᶜ top; Cant. R. to IV, 4 על הגו׳ (Lev. R. s. 10 על המְגַדְּפִים) atones for the blasphemers.
