זִיג (v. זגג) 1) to be clear, bright, transparent.—Part. זָיֵג, זָיֵיג. Pes. 74ᵇ דזיג וכ׳ ed. (Ar. דזייג) it was as clear as &c., v. זְגוּגִיתָא. Sabb. 134ᵃ והיכא דז׳ and where there is a transparent spot in the child’s rump. Nidd. 25ᵃ. Ḥull. 76ᵇ כיון דזִיגֵי וכ׳ (Ar. דזייגי) when they are transparent although not white. —2) (cmp. Lat. vitrea bilis) to be glass-like. Keth. 61ᵇ זָג לה she got a greenish bilious complexion (was swollen, Rashi).
