חִיתּוּן m. (חָתַן) marriage; wedding ceremony, only in pl. חִיתּוּנִים, חִיתּוּנִין. Num. R. s. 12 (ref. to Cant. III, 11) ח׳ היו וכ׳ the law-giving on Sinai was a wedding (between God and Israel), as we read (Ex. XIX, 10) &c., v. קִידּוּשִׁין; Pesik. Vayhi, p. 5ᵃ; Cant. R. to l. c. כחתנים (corr. acc.).
