יַעֲנָה f. (b. h.; cmp. עָנָה) ostrich; also בַּת הַיַּ׳ (v. Ges. H. Dict.10 s. v.). Ḥull. 64ᵇ (argument about the meaning of בת הי׳ concluded) כתיב י׳ וכתיב בת י׳ the Bible uses y. a. bath y. indiscriminately. Y. Sabb. I, 3ᵈ, v. נָעֳמִית.
