כָּזָב m. (b. h.; preced.) falsehood.—Pl. כְּזָבִים. Pesik. Baḥod., p. 154ᵃ; Lev. R. s. 29 הבלים וכ׳ vain and false things. Cant. R. to II, 13 (play on סתו, ib. 11) that is the wicked (Roman) government שמסיתה … בכְזָבֶיהָ which entices the world and leads it astray with its falsehoods. Pesik. R. s. 40 כ׳ שישראל מכזבים וכ׳ the falsehoods which the Israelites commit during the whole year.—[Ex. R. s. 42 כזבים, v. כּוּב.]—[מדבר כזב, v. כּוּב.]
