*אִימְרָנָא m. (= h. מָרוֹן; v. אִימַר a. preced.) rebellion. בני א׳ rebels. R. Hash. 18ᵃ (translating בני מרון Mish.) (all creatures pass before the Lord for receiving their decrees) כבני א׳ like rebels (after surrender brought before a court martial; cmp. Midr. Till. to Ps. XVII, 1, s. v. אפופסין, a. Y. R. Hash. I, 57ᵇ). [Rashi אמרנא = Syr. אֵמרונא ‘like young lambs passing singly to be marked for tithes’.]
