Moreover, Abishai, son of Zeruiah, smote Edom, in the Valley of Salt,—eighteen thousand;

καὶ ἔθετο ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι φρουράς καὶ ἦσαν πάντες οἱ Ιδουμαῖοι παῖδες Δαυιδ καὶ ἔσῳζεν κύριος τὸν Δαυιδ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπορεύετο
and set, in Edom, garrisons, and all Edom became servants unto David,—and Yahweh gave David the victory, whithersoever he went.
And he put garrisons in the valley; and all the Edomites became David’s servants: and the Lord delivered David wherever he went.
