Then Satan stands up against Israel, and persuades David to number Israel,
וַיַּֽעֲמֹ֥ד שָׂטָ֖ן עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּ֨סֶת֙ אֶת־דָּוִ֔יד לִמְנ֖וֹת אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἔστη διάβολος ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπέσεισεν τὸν Δαυιδ τοῦ ἀριθμῆσαι τὸν Ισραηλ
Then the accuser stood up, against Israel,—and moved David, to number Israel.
And the devil stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.

And there standeth up an adversary against Israel, and persuadeth David to number Israel,
Go and speak unto David, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, I offer thee three things: choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.
Go and speak to David, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I bring three things upon thee: choose one of them for thyself, and I will do it to thee.
“Go and speak to David, saying, ‘The LORD says, “I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.”’”
Go and tell David, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things: choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.
Goe and tell Dauid, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things, choose thee one of them, that I may doe it vnto thee.
“Go, and you have spoken to David, saying, Thus said YHWH: I am extending three [choices] to you; choose one of these for yourself, and I do [it] to you.”
לֵךְ֩ וְדִבַּרְתָּ֨ אֶל־דָּוִ֜יד לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שָׁל֕וֹשׁ אֲנִ֖י נֹטֶ֣ה עָלֶ֑יךָ בְּחַר־לְךָ֛ אַחַ֥ת מֵהֵ֖נָּה וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ׃
πορεύου καὶ λάλησον πρὸς Δαυιδ λέγων οὕτως λέγει κύριος τρία αἴρω ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ ἔκλεξαι σεαυτῷ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ ποιήσω σοι
Go—and thou shalt speak unto David, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh, Three things, do I offer thee,—choose thee one from among them, that I may do it unto thee.
Go and speak to David, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I bring three things upon thee: choose one of them for thyself, and I will do it to thee.
“Go and speak to David, saying, ‘Yahweh says, “I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.”’”
`Go, and thou hast spoken unto David, saying, Thus said Jehovah, Three--I am stretching out unto thee; choose for thee one of these, and I do it to thee.'
