בָּגַר (√בג, v. בָּאגָא; cmp. חֲזָזִית) [to be rough (of surface, voice &c.);] to be wrinkled (of a female’s nipples), whence; to become of age (at twelve years and a half). Keth. III, 8 הבּוֹגֶרֶת a girl of beginning maturity (v. Tosef. Yom Tob a. l.). Nidd. V, 7 כיון שבָּגְרָה as soon as she is mature, v. צֶמֶל. Pes. 113ᵃ (prov.) בתך ב׳ וכ׳ has thy daughter become of age?
