What you'll help us accomplish

Find mobile usability problems before the library launches.

Berean is preparing the Open Reference Library for public use. The desktop experience has received most of the attention so far, and we need a focused review of the mobile experience before launch.

Your Task is to test the library at several compact screen sizes, work through its main navigation paths, and document anything that becomes difficult to find, understand, or use.

What you'll do

Follow a short test plan and return a clear issue log.

  • Test the library at 320px, 360px, and 390px viewport widths.
  • Open and close the primary navigation and move through the main library sections.
  • Check whether labels, controls, headings, cards, and links remain readable and usable.
  • Note horizontal scrolling, clipped content, overlapping elements, or controls that are difficult to use.
  • Record each reproducible problem in the supplied issue-log template.
  • Include a screenshot when it materially helps Berean understand the problem.

This may be a good fit if

You are comfortable testing digital interfaces carefully and describing what went wrong.

UX or QA experience

You have tested websites, applications, or digital products before.

Attention to detail

You notice inconsistent behavior and can reproduce what you found.

Clear reporting

You can describe a problem in plain language another person can act on.

Basic browser tools

You are comfortable resizing a browser or using responsive-device simulation.

You do not need to be a frontend developer. The Task is about identifying and documenting problems, not fixing the code.

What Berean provides

You will receive everything needed to perform the review.

  • Access to the current Open Reference Library test environment.
  • A short testing checklist covering the required navigation paths.
  • The three viewport sizes to review.
  • A simple issue-log template.
  • A Berean contact for questions about intended behavior.

You're finished when

Every required mobile test has been completed and the issue log is returned.

Completion condition

This Task is complete when Berean receives the issue log covering the 320px, 360px, and 390px test scenarios and confirms that each required navigation path has been reviewed.

Part of a larger Project

Prepare the Open Reference Library for public launch

This Task is one piece of a larger launch-readiness Project covering content quality, navigation, reference integrity, and usability.

Completing the mobile review does not make you responsible for the entire Project. Your responsibility is limited to this Task.

About the commitment

This is a small, finite Task.

We estimate the review at approximately 3–4 hours.

The requested completion date is September 24.

Once you complete the agreed testing and Berean confirms the issue log, your commitment to this Task ends.

Expressing interest does not commit you to take the Task. Berean will review fit first. If we would like to offer you the assignment, you will have a separate opportunity to review the details and decide whether to accept.

Can you help with this?

Tell us about your experience and availability.

Berean will review your interest before offering the Task. If selected, you will still decide whether you want to accept the assignment.
