V (IV), 15,] to lash a transgressor with a strap commensurate to his size (v. מַלְקוּת). Y. Yoma V, 42ᶜ (expl. מצליף, Mish. ib. V, 5) כמְטַבְרֵיר Ar. s. v. צלף (ed. כמטוורד, read כמְטַוְורֵר, cmp. טַוְורָא) like the movement of the lasher in court; (cmp. Bab. ib. 55ᵃ top כמנגדנא).
