יוֹלֵדָה, יוֹלֶדֶת f. (b. h.; preced.) a woman in confinement; a mother. Ab. II, 8 אשרי יוֹלַדְתּוֹ blessed is his mother.—Pl. יוֹלְדוֹת. Sabb. 32ᵃ נשים מתות י׳ women die in confinement (v. לֵידָה); Y. ib. II, 5ᵇ top; v. יַלְדָּה.—Sot. I, 5 את הי׳ (not יולדת) the women appearing in the Temple after confinement.
