יוֹצֵר m. (b. h.; יָצַר) 1) Creator. Lev. R. s. 23, end (ref. to Deut. XXXII, 18) רפו ידיו של י׳ the Creator’s hands become lax (undecided). [Ib. תשו ידיו של י׳, read: צַיָּיר.]—Mekh. Bo. s. 13; Tanḥ. Bo. 7 (ref. to Ex. XII, 29) יוֹצרוֹ חלקז He who created it (the night) divided it (exactly into two halves); Gen. R. s. 43. Ber. 61ᵃ (play on וייצר, Gen. II, 7, v. יְצִירָה) אוי לי מִיּוֹצְרִי אוי לי מִיִּצְרִי woe is to me from (my responsibility to) my Creator, woe to me from (my struggle with) my inclination; a. fr. —2) [turner,] potter. Gen.
