כְּרִיָה, כְּרִיָיה f. (כָּרָה) digging, esp. digging a pit through which an animal was injured (Ex. XXI, 33). Mekh. Mishp., N’zikin, s. 11; Tosef. B. Kam. VI, 13 נפל לפניו מקול כ׳ if the animal fell forward (into the pit) frightened by the sound of digging (within the pit), נפל לאחריו מקול הכ׳ if it tumbled backward &c. B.
