כְּתוֹבֶת f. (b. h. כְּתֹבֶת ; preced. wds.) writing, inscription; כ׳ קעקע etched-in inscription on the skin (Lev. XIX, 28). Macc. III, 6. Lev. R. s. 19 שנמצאת כ׳ ק׳ חקוקה וכ׳ an etched-in writing was found on his (Jojakim’s) body. Gitt. 20ᵇ בכ׳ ק׳ in the case of the slave’s emancipation being etched in on his hand (so as to be indelible).
