כִּירָה II f. (b. h. כִּרַיִם; cmp. כּוּר II) a portable stove on feet, with caves for two pots, v. כּוּפָּח. Sabb. 38ᵇ. Ib. III, 1. Ib. 138ᵇ, v. יָרֵךְ. Kel. VI, 1 העושה שתי … כ׳ if one improvises a stove by means of two stones; Tosef. Kel. B. Kam. V, 3 כרה ed. Zuck. (R. S. to Kel. VI, 4 כירה). Kel. VI, 2 כִּירַת הטבחים the butchers’ stove (improvised with several stones). Y. Bets. II, 61ᶜ top בשאה שכִּירָתְךָ סתומה at a time when thine own (private) stove is closed (when you are not permitted to cook), opp. כירת רבך thy Master’s stove (the altar); Bab. Bets. 20ᵇ; Tosef. Ḥag. XII כ׳ זה טמא (Var. כ׳ זו טמאה; v. II Vers., ed. Schechter, ch. XXVIII) this stove is unclean.
