מְתוּנָּא c. (תְּנַן, v. מְתַנָּא) 1) reeky, foul. B. Bath. 19ᵇ במ׳ when the straw is foul. —2) (noun) מ׳, מְתוּנְתָּא f. reeky, infiltrated earth. Ib. 18ᵃ מ׳ קשה וכ׳ ground infiltrated (with urine &c.) is injurious to the wall. Ib. 19ᵃ היזיקא דמ׳ the damage caused by &c. Pes. 47ᵇ במתונא Ar. a. Ms. M. 2 (ed. במתונתא; Ms. M. 1 במתינה) it means swampy earth (which cannot be crushed to powder).
