מַרְזֵחָא, מַרְזֵי׳ ch. 1) same. Keth. 69ᵃ, v. infra.—Pl. מַרְזְחִין, מַרְזֵיחִין. Targ. Am. VI, 7. Targ. Y. I Num. XXV, 2 (v. Sifré Num. 131, quot. in preced.).—Esp. (banquet) exhilarating the mourner; (בֵּית) בֵּי מ׳ the place of the mourners’ meal. Targ. Jer. XVI, 5.—Keth. 69ᵃ מאן יתיב בי מ׳ וכ׳ who sits at the head at mourners’ meals? expl. ib. 69ᵇ מהו מ׳ אֵבֶל (be-) marzeḥa means (house of) mourning (ref. to Jer. l. c.). —2) (v. מַרְזוֹחַ) pl. מַרְזְחַיָּיא those who cheer the mourners.
