נְמָלָה f. (b. h.; perh. a contr. of נעמלה, fr. עָמֵל) ant. Ḥull. 63ᵃ (in Chald. dict.) כי הוה חזי נ׳ וכ׳ when he saw ants (at work), he used to say, ‘thy righteousness &c. (Ps. XXXVI, 7). Deut. R. s. 5; Yalk. Prov. 938 הנ׳ שלשה וכ׳ in the house of the ant there are three stories. Ib. מעשה בנ׳ אחת וכ׳ once an ant dropped a grain of wheat &c.; a. e.—Pl. נְמָלִים, נְמָלִין. Peah IV, 11.
