נִיחוּם, נִח׳ m. (b. h.; נָחַם) comfort, consolation. Mekh. B’shall., beg. (ref. to נחם, Ex. XIII, 17) אין נ׳ זה אלא נהוג this (naḥam) does not mean comforting but leading (i.e. the מ is not radical); Yalk. Ex. 226 אין ני׳ בכ"מ וכ׳ (corr. acc.), v. נָחַם a. נָחָה.—Pl. נִיחוּמִים, נִיחוּמִין, נִח׳. Pesik. Shimʿu, p. 117ᵇ דברי נ׳ comforting words, opp. קינטורין. Ib. Naḥămu, p. 124ᵃ דברים טובים וכ׳; Yalk.
