נֵץ I m. (b. h.; נָצַץ) 1) sprouting, flower, blossom. Ukts. II, 1 והנץ שלה and the flower-like substance on cucumbers. Ib. 3 הנץ שלו the sproutings on the pomegranate; (Tosef. ib. I, 8 סיאר, שיער). Y. Shebi. IV, end, 35ᶜ (ref. to משינצו, ib. IV, 10) לאי דו נץ שהוא וכ׳ what blossoming is meant? Such as promises one Robʿa of olives. Cant. R. to II, 3 נִיצּוֹ קודם לעליו its blossoms come out before its leaves. Tosef. Par. XII (XI), 1 משישיר את ניצו when it has shed its blossoms; a. fr.—Gen. R. s. 28 נץ השדרה Ar.
