*מַקְזָזָא m. (קזז, cmp. גזז a. Arab.ḳazz salire) jumper, runner. Y. R. Hash. II, 58ᵃ top כהדין מקזנה (corr. acc.) the torches were moved (v. Mish. ib. II, 4) in the manner of the runner (in zigzag).—Pl. מַקְזָזֵי. Pesik. B’shall. p. 84ᵃ מַקְזָזוֹי מן קדמוי וכ׳ Ar. (ed. מקקוזיי; Yalk. Ex. 225 מקזווי, corr. acc.) his runners before him, his runners behind him (Cant. R. to IV, 12 ועבדים מהלכין אחריו).
