τρίμετρος [ῐ],ον, of verses,
A. consisting of three μέτρα;i. e. in iambics, trochaics, and anapaestics, of threeσυζυγίαι(of two feet each); but in dactylics, etc., of three single feet: hence the iambic verse of six feet is called by the Greeksἴαμβος τρίμετρος,
