οὐρεύς,ῆος,ὁ, Ion. forὀρεύς(q. v.): in Il. 1.50 , 10.84 it has been taken as,

= οὖρος, φύλαξ ,a guard, warder, cf. Arist. Po. 1461a10 ; but it may well meanmuleshere, as in other places, and the Sch. give both explanations.
